Interrupting someone who's trying to concentrate is a really arrogant act. To me it's a lot like going to a library. There's a certain etiquette at a library. You know people are there to read and learn. So you don't bug them or distract them or talk really loudly around them, etc. Why should an office be so different? People come to the office to work, to think, and to learn. I just believe a quiet environment is the right atmosphere most of the time for the kind of work we do. And it's really the right kind of environment to ponder, to think, and to reflect, which are important things to do at work as well.Jason Fried.
